Obituary

Sandra Kay Gray, 71, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022. 

She was born on April 20, 1951, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Shirley Arthur Gray and Hazel Lee Gray. 

Sandra was a member of the St. George Episcopal Church in Pine Grove. She was St. George’s senior warden historian and a foundational member of the parish. 

She is survived by a niece, Sherri Beahm of Stanley; a nephew, Jason Dovel of Leesburg; two great nieces, Miranda Beam and Kristen Dovel; and three great nephews, Zane Dovel, Benjamin Beahm and Zachary Dovel. She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine May Dovel; and a brother, Shirley Obrien “Mickey” Gray. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the St. George Episcopal Church by the Rev. Cathy Tibbetts. Burial will be in the Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, at the church.
