Robert Hunter "Bobby" Parlett, 80, of Luray, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1941, in Luray and was a son of the late Paul Jackson Parlett Sr. and Anna E. Richards Parlett.
Mr. Parlett had worked on a farm as a youth and later as a bricklayer. While in Ohio, he was employed at the Ford Motor Company and at a steel mill. In Front Royal, he worked for American Viscoe, FMC and Avtex Fibers for 23 years. He was a pipe fitter, welder and steam fitter. He later worked for the Architect of the Capitol for 22 years and for Edwin Huffman's Excavating for several years, prior to retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
On Nov. 30, 2000, he married Donna Sue Davis Parlett, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Robert T. and Quentin S. Parlett, both of Luray, Vincent C. Parlett of Fredericksburg, and Bryant Parlett of Shenandoah; a stepdaughter, Angela Schutt of Strasburg; a sister, Peggy Hutchinson of Charlottesville; and a brother, Stewart Parlett of Luray. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Pamela Shifflett; two sisters, Alma Dyer and Anna Lee Breeden; and four brothers, James, Harold Irvin, Charles and Paul Jackson Parlett Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Quentin Parlett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
