Jimmy Dale Richards

Jimmy Dale Richards, 80, of Luray, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on August 26, 1943, in Luray and was a son of the late Emmett Clark Richards and Frances Elizabeth Breeden Parlett.

Jimmy was a member of the Calvary Independent Brethren Church in Stanley.

On August 17, 1962, he married June Elizabeth Good Richards, who died on July 11, 2014.

Jimmy is survived by a son, James Dale Richards and wife Julie of Luray; a daughter, Angela Lucas and husband Danny of Stanley; two brothers, Richard Parlett of Stanley, and Alvin Parlett of Luray; a sister, Alice "Faye" Foster of Luray; four grandchildren, Madison Lucas, Nicholas Richards, Kellie Jenkins and Christopher Jenkins; and four great-grandchildren, Avery Richards, Robin Richards, Iris Jenkins and Claire Jenkins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Hughes; four brothers, Julian Richards, Thomas Parlett, Roscoe Richards and Ronald Parlett; two sisters, Judy Parlett and Barbara Arbaugh; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Richards; and a son-in-law, Gary Hughes.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 26, at the Calvary Independent Brethren Church by the Rev. Charles Turner and Pastor Josh Parlett. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Thursday, January 25, at the church.
