Edward Gordon Pitts

Edward Gordon Pitts, 71, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1948, in Prince George's County, Md., and was a son of the late Francis Gordon Pitts and Gladys Crosby Pitts.

Edward worked as an insurance adjuster for Erie Insurance for 30 years.

On Aug. 12, 1966, he married Patricia Jo Winkler Pitts, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Laura Lee Kelly and husband Greg of Luray, Tammy Jo Cook of New Market, and Shannon Lyn Griffith, also of Luray; a son, Thomas Edward Pitts of Luray; and four grandchildren, Megan Ember Kelly of Sterling, Ryann Clay Kelly and Chance Allen Jenkins, both of Luray, and Benjamin Shane Cook of New Market. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pitts; and a sister, Diane Griffith.

A private service will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Derrick Wood, with burial in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the funeral home.
