Charlotte Smoot Obituary
Charlotte Jean Smoot, 79, of Stanley, died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1940, in Virginia and was a daughter of the late Jett Woodard and Alice Woodard.
On March 20, 1957, she married George Godfrey Smoot Jr., who died on May 1, 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Smoot of McDowell, and Margaret Lynn Benoit of Staunton; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Frankie, Frances and Margaret; and three brothers, Jett "Jay," Jack and Charlie.
A funeral service was conducted on Monday, Dec. 23, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Jeff Lucas. Burial was in the Stanley Advent Cemetery.
