Betty Lou Painter, 89, of Luray, went to the with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1930, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Vernon Jackson Rhinehart and Betty L. Blosser Rhinehart.
Betty worked for Rockingham Poultry for 39 years. She and her husband also owned and operated a service station in Stanley. A hard-working Christian woman, Betty was a member of the Newport Church of the Brethren.
On Aug 12, 1954, she married Winston Elwood Painter, who died on July 6, 1975.
She is survived by her caregiver, Robert Dale Strickler and wife Connie of Luray; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred E. Strickler, Ethel Jewell, Virgie Hilliards, Iva Stroupe and Thelma Price; and a brother, Elmer Rhinehart.
A graveside service was conducted on Thursday, March 26, at the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray by Evangelist Doug Gochenour.
