June Madeline Chinn, 78, of Luray, died on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Ms. Chinn was born on July 9, 1940, in Luray and was a daughter of the late John Dougans and Julia Tutt Dougans.
She is survived by three daughters, Rene Chinn-Lang of Ocean Springs, Miss., Michelle Chinn of Manassas, and Iesha Ausberry of Luray; a son, James Chinn of Woodbridge; two sisters, Esther Boyden and Irma Cooper, both of Norfolk; a brothers, John Lee Dougans of North Charleston, S.C.; four stepbrothers, Eugene, Leroy and Jerry Lee Frye, and Richard Payton, all of Luray; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Emmett, Michael, Earnest and William Dougans; five sisters, Penny Dougans, Jo Ann Braddock, Beverly Carey, Vernyce Williams and Jacqueline Dougans; and her companion, Roosevelt Hayes.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at St. John Baptist Church in Luray by Audre King, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Luray.
