Goldie W (Wood) Viands

Goldie May Viands, 99, of Rileyville, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019.
She was born on May 26, 1919, in Luray and was a daughter of the late James
Joshua Wood and Mary Kibler Wood.
Goldie had worked for the Luray Caverns Corporation as a clerk and was a
member of the Rileyville Baptist Church.
On Sept. 18, 1941, she married Leonard Oswell Viands, who died on July 6,
1968.
She is survived by three sons, Robert(Anna Lou), Billy(Sarah) and Gary(Ruth)
Viands, all of
Rileyville; one granddaughter, Melissa Painter and husband Jimmy of
Stanley, and three grandsons, William Viands and wife April, Lee Viands and
wife Erin, and Brandon Smoot. all of
Rileyville;  one great-granddaughter, Ashley Connor(Kevin) of Stanley  five
step-great grandchildren, Andrew, Amber, Jacob, Kaleb, & Jordan,
and one step-great, great grandson, Hayden. She was preceded in death by two
sisters, Verlin Wood and Freida Wood Frye.

A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, at the
Rileyville Baptist Church by the Rev. Dan Ellis. Burial was in the Beahm's
Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
