Edwin Painter Obituary
Edwin Virgil Painter, 71, of Stanley, died on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
He was born on June 27, 1947, in Luray and was a son of the late Charles Virgil Painter and Frances Louise Comer Painter.
On Nov. 7, 1977, he married Brenda Freeze Painter, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Jamie and Eddie Painter, both of Stanley; two daughters, Sherry Denisar of Shenandoah, and Marian Pettit of Luray; three sisters, Diana Cubbage of Stanley, Sarah Hensley of Elkton, and Patricia Young of Wildwood, Minn.; six brothers, Glenwood, Noah E., Rickie Lee and Charles Painter Jr., all of Luray, and Freddie Lee and Phillip D. Painter, both of Stanley; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet L. Freeze.
A funeral service was conducted on Sunday, March 10, at the Harvest Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Terry Cave. Burial was in the St. Luke Cemetery at Alma.
