Claude Edward Ramey Jr., 77, of Luray, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1941, in Stanley and was a son of the late Claude Edward Ramey Sr. and Evelyn V. Good Ramey.
Claude worked as a foreman at Wrangler for 35 years.
On Feb. 8, 1964, he married Shellie R. Atkins Ramey, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Angie Ramey Baylor and husband Eric of Harrisonburg; three sisters, June Bailey and husband Melvin of Elkton, Gloria Comer and husband Carroll of Shenandoah, and Dianna Hurlock and husband Bernard of Luray; a brother-in-law, Terry Atkins and wife Ruth Ann of Luray; two granddaughters, Lauren Baylor and Allison Baylor, both of Harrisonburg; one grandson, Blake Baylor of Harrisonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Janney.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Chester Knighting. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
The family was to receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at the funeral home.
