William Franklin Rothgeb Sr., 79, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
He was born on May 20, 1946, in Luray and was a son of the late Mildred Marie Rothgeb and stepson of the late Edward "Pap" Noah Cubbage.
On December 18, 1964, William married Mary Frances Knight Rothgeb, who died on September 14, 2021.
William is survived by three sons, Roger Dwayne Rothgeb and wife Wendy of Luray, Thomas "T.C." Rothgeb of California, and William "Billy" Rothgeb Jr. of Staunton; a daughter, Brenda Sue Townsley of Strasburg; four brothers, Charles Robert Rothgeb, Bennie Cubbage and Phillip Cubbage, all of Rileyville, and John Mathew Cubbage of Luray; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Huffman of Luray, and Lou Jennings of Browntown; 13 grandchildren, Cordel, Garrett, Lily, Jackson, Olive, William, Ben, Elizabeth, Kevin, Andy, Michelle, Brandy and Becky; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, at the funeral home by Pastor Josh Parlett. Burial will be in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
