Obituary
Wendell Wayne Shenk, 82, of Luray, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023.
He was born on October 25, 1940, in Luray and was a son of the late Lewis William Shenk and Gladys Lucille Bradley Hooton.
Wendell retired as a supervisor at World Bank, with 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
On February 26, 2011, he married Peggy Taylor Shenk, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ronald Shenk and wife Laurie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a stepson, Dylan Kibler of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Brenda Sue Alger of Luray, and Charlotte Louise Powell of Maryland; a brother, Charles Benton Shenk of Luray; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Lewis Shenk.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Andy Seastrom, with visitation one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.
Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray, with military honors by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621.
