Verla Mae (Harris) Dennison

Verla Mae Dennison, 83, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at English Meadows at Harrisonburg.

She was born on March 26, 1941, in Hamilton, AL, and was a daughter of the late Claude G. Harris and Emma Pearl Pierce Harris.

Verla is survived by three daughters, Sheila Hall and husband John of Crimora, VA, Melissa Logsdon and husband Mike of Foley, AL, and Margaret Thomas of St. Louis, MO; four sisters, Claudia Peninger of Florida, and Nellie Waterson, Katherine Rider and Verna O'Connor, all of Michigan; two brothers, Billy Harris and Robert Harris, both of Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Amber Smoot (and George), Nathan Dennison, Kevin Jenkins (and Carissa), Alyse Young (and Kyle), Andrew Whittington (and Brooke), Ashley Vega (and David), Maranda Thomas, Marissa Bates (and Cory), Mariah Ann Light, Michael A. Thomas Jr. and Maridith Thomas; and 10 great-grandchildren, Rion Dennison, Peyton Light, William Light, Waylon Light, Emma Bates, Presley Knight, Avanleigh Young, Lincoln Young, Lilah Vega and Noelle Vega. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Deason and Margaret Huckaba; and three brothers, James Deason, Joe Deason and James Paul Harris.
