Tobby Carl Cantrell, 84, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
A native of Pound, VA, he was born on April 14, 1941, in Wise County and was a son of the late Elzie Cantrell and Ora Mullins Cantrell.
Tobby was a postmaster, retiring with 32 years of service.
On October 1, 1966, he married Kay Rae Ashman Cantrell, who died on July 20, 2018.
Tobby is survived by two daughters, Lisa Bell of Luray, and Susan Courtney of Stanley; two brothers, Ronnie Cantrell and Richard Cantrell, both of Ohio; three grandsons, Adam Bell of New Market, and Chris Bell and Daniel Bell, both of Luray; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Cantrell, Newton Cantrell and Carroll Cantrell; and four sisters, Anita Cantrell, Ova Mullins, Pauline Holiday and Cotella Boggs.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, at the Isaiah Clem Cemetery at Fort Valley by the Rev. Dan Ellis.
