Shirey (Keeney) Brown

Shirey Keeney Brown, 82, of Mineral, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, S.C.

She was born on July 24, 1941, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Milton Oscar Keeney and Frances Virginia Fox Keeney.

On March 10, 1959, Shirey married John William Brown Sr., who died on September 17, 2008.

She is survived by a son, John Brown of Mineral; a daughter, Shannon Lowry and husband Kenneth of Madison; a brother, Gary M. Keeney of Luray; a sister, Lisha Miller of Luray; a granddaughter, Kennon Lowry-Puit and husband Mark of Staunton; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kieran and Austin. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Shenk.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 18, at Morning Star Lutheran Church in Luray by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Marble, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery.
