Robert Kevin Alger, 62, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
He was born on October 6, 1962, in Luray and was a son of Robert William Alger Jr. of Stanley and Rosa Mae Breeden Alger, also of Stanley.
Kevin worked as a technician for Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative for 30 years. He loved to be outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, working in the garden or on his tractor.
Kevin was a wonderful man with a huge heart. He loved his family and friends with a fierceness you do not see often and was loyal to a fault. He was the best husband, father, son, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. He will be greatly missed.
On December 22, 2012, he married Crystal Dawn Purdham Alger, who survives.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Robert is survived by a daughter, Laura Mae Oatis and husband John of South Carolina; three sons, Robert Jason Alger of Stanley, and Jacob Dayne Bryant and Jeremiah Lee Bryant, both of Luray; a brother, Randal Lee Alger and wife Kathy of Luray; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 15, at the Luray VFW Comer-Jones Post 621. A covered dish meal will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
