Richard Donald Sale

Richard Donald Sale, 75, of Stanley, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Woodstock.

Born on March 6, 1950, in Richmond, he was the beloved son of the late Taylor Garnet Sale Sr. and Frances Edith Spencer Sale. A man of deep faith, Richard was a devoted member of Grove Hill Chapel Global Methodist Church, where he found strength, purpose, and community.

On August 10, 1968, Richard married the love of his life, Catherine Lehman Sale, who survives him. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and service.

Richard is also survived by his daughter, Kimberley Griffey and partner Ken Cumbea of Powhatan; his son, Kevin Sale and wife Shannon of Monroe, LA; his brother, Taylor Garnet “Sonny” Sale; his sisters, Laura Mae Seat and Joy Sale Monger; three cherished grandchildren, Christopher Reynolds and wife Karson, Allyson Culpepper and husband Devin, and Gabriella “Ella” Sale; and two beautiful great-grandsons, Grant and Mason Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Douglas Sale; his sister, Diane Sale Willis; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Reynolds.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 5, at Grove Hill Chapel Global Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Ellen Martin. All who knew and loved Richard are welcome to attend and honor his memory.
