Richard Owens Obituary

Richard Darrnell Owens, 79, of Stanley, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

He was born on May 23, 1944, in Munford, TN, and was a son of the late James Owens and Agnes Laxton Owens.

Richard was a member of the Ida Grove Gospel Church.

On October 10, 1963, Richard married Ellary Katherine Cubbage Owens, who died on December 3, 2022.

He is survived by two sons, Darrell Owens, and Craig Owens and wife Terri Owens, all of Stanley; a daughter, Melissa Hart and husband Charles Hart II of Stanley; one sister, Glenda Cubbage of Stanley; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Phil, M.B. and James Owens Jr.; and two sisters, Ruby Ivey and Helen Stringfellow.
