Richard Delane Grimsley

Richard Delane Grimsley, 79, of Stanley, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

He was born on December 24, 1944, in Stanley and was a son of the late George Richard Grimsley and Lillian Bessie Cubbage Grimsley.

Richard attended the Newport Church of the Brethren. He had a great passion in life for the sport of baseball and the love of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean Leake. 

Richard is survived by a sister, Jearlien Owen of Stanley; and two nieces, Susan Taylor and Cynthia Weaver, both of Stanley. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Calvary Independent Brethren Cemetery in Stanley.
