Raymond Kite Obituary

Raymond Lee Kite, 79, of Luray, VA, passed away on October 28, 2025, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.

He was born on August 2, 1946, in Stanley, VA, to the late Glenn Robert and Beulah Velva Kite.

He graduated from Page County High School in 1964 and later attended James Madison University and the University of Virginia, obtaining his Master’s of Education. He taught in Page County Public Schools for 46 years and also farmed until his passing.

He excelled at football, basketball, and baseball in high school and was the president of his senior class. He was an avid NY Yankees and VT Hokies fan.

Raymond was a member and former deacon of Stanley Baptist Church.

On August 13, 1971, he married Jacqueline Segar Epes Jones, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his three daughters, Sara Kite Miller (Matthew), Frances Kite Grubb (Stephen), and Jackie Kite Hall (Jarrett). He loved and was beloved by his seven grandchildren, Isaac, Abigail and Ella Miller, Grant and Clara Grubb, and Evelyn and Jeb Hall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Louise Lambert and Juanita Ann Comer; and three brothers, Glenn F. Kite, James M. Kite and Robert Wayne Kite.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, at the Bradley Funeral Home. A service in celebration of Raymond's life will follow at 2 p.m.

After the service, a meal is planned at Raymond's home. All family and friends are invited.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department or to the Page County 4-H.
