Ralph Louderback Jr. Obituary

Ralph Unis Louderback Jr., 65, of Stanley, departed his earthly life on March 18, 2022, at Winchester Medical Center. He was born January 24, 1957.

He is survived by his companion of 33 years, Debbie McSpadden; a sister, Brenda Johnson, and brother-in-law Jim Johnson of Luray. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Sr., and his mother, Helen Courtney Louderback.

Ralph lived his entire life in Page County, graduating in 1975 from Page County High School. He worked for many years at Avtex Fibers in Front Royal and spent more than 30 years in the poultry industry as a grower. In addition, he was an experienced carpenter, machine operator, builder and entrepreneur. He owned and operated Cozy Cove Cottages for many years. Ralph's wide range of knowledge and experience made him a valuable asset in any endeavor.

Ralph's circle included his many friends from high school, as well as the many people he met along life's way. He enjoyed the company of his friends and their occasional get togethers. He loved to reminisce with his classmates come reunion time and made the effort to keep up with everyone he could. Ralph was a kind and caring person who had the ability not only to perceive others' problems but always willing to provide his help and time, even at sacrifice to himself.

He was active in the Shenandoah Gap community, where he served many years as both officer and board member. He worked tirelessly to ensure that the needs of the community were being met. He led numerous projects maintaining the roads and common areas. He also invested his resources in the community that has contributed to its continuing growth and success to this day. He was never reluctant to answer a call for help.

He held a quick wit and an uncanny ability to provide competent advice and assistance over a wide range of issues. Ralph loved his family and his friends. He held those he loved in the highest regard and never did a call to him go unanswered. His love of others and his desire to help when and where he could set him apart as friend and as family to those who knew him.

His loss shall be felt for a very long time to come.

Per his wishes the body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
