Philip Harlan Gray Sr.

Philip Harlan Gray Sr., 73, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024.

He was born on July 11, 1951, in Stanley and was a son of the late Gilbert Gray and Hilda Crawford Gray.

On April 3, 2006, Philip married Edith Mae Hilliards Gray, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Philip Gray Jr. of Stanley; two stepsons, Larry Hensley Jr. and Kevin Hensley, both of Stanley; two sisters, Sonia Dinges of Stanley, and Darlene Gray of Harrisonburg; four brothers, David Gray of Timberville, Dewayne Gray of Woodstock, and Jackie Gray and Kevin Gray, both of Stanley; five grandchildren, Katelyn Hanson, Philip Gray III, Travis Hensley, Alek Hensley and Cole Hensley; and three great-grandchildren, Lacey Hanson, Liam Hanson and Lucas Hanson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Beydler; and four brothers, Jeff Gray, Gilbert Gray Jr., Randell Gray Sr. and Danny Gray.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Tuesday, November 5, at St. George's Episcopal Church in Pine Grove.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, at the church by Evangelist Doug Gochenour. Burial will be in the Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.
