Peggy Sue (Smith) Stanley

Peggy Sue Stanley, 76, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

She was born on August 25, 1947, in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of the late Daniel Smith and Hazel Dove Smith.

Peggy had worked at Wrangler for 20 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Allen David Stanley, are a daughter, Sandra Kay Good of Stanley; two sons, Edward Payne Jr. of Monterey, and Keith Payne of Dayton; four brothers, Carl Smith of West Virginia, Joseph Smith of Edinburg, Bud Smith of Harrisonburg and Rick Smith of Harrisonburg; a sister, Barbara Golden of Bridgewater; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Curt Smith, Kenneth Smith; and a sister, Sharon Smith.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, at the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal Church by Pastor Randy Miller. Burial will be in the Good Family Cemetery in Stanley.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at the church.
