Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., 82, of Luray, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living.

Mr. Holmes was born on Sept. 4, 1938, in Washington, D.C., and was a son of the late Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Tiller Holmes.

He is survived by two daughters, Wendy Holmes of Potomac, Md., and Betsy Holmes of Luray; a son, Oliver Wendell Holmes III of Stafford; a brother, Ronnie Holmes of Virginia; and six grandchildren.

Services are planned for a later date.
