Norris Lee Dinges Jr., 77, of Stanley, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 12, 1949, in Luray and was a son of the late Norris Lee Dinges Sr. and Tressie Kite Dinges.
Norris retired as an engineer for Norfolk and Western, with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church.
On November 2, 1967, he married Vicki Housden Dinges, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Norris is survived by two sons, David Dinges of Shenandoah, and Jeffery Dinges and wife Daphne of Stanley; a daughter, Charity McClung and husband Timothy of Luray; a brother, Bruce Dinges of Elkton; seven grandchildren, Brittany Sellers, Dakota Dinges, Danielle Dinges, Victoria Caton, Chelsey McClung, Jaidyn Burke and Timothy McClung II; and four great-grandchildren, Layla Sellers, Avery Sellers, Arya Sellers and Dovelynn McClung. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Dinges and Kenneth Dinges; and a sister, Karen Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, at the church by the Rev. James Kite and Pastor Josh Parlett. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Shenandoah.
