Nelson Lee Alger

Nelson Lee Alger, 83, of Luray, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026.

He was born on July 10, 1942, in Virginia and was a son of the late James Abraham Alger Sr. and Helen Thomas Alger.

Nelson had worked at Merillat for a number of years, where he cut and sanded boards for cabinets. He was a member of the Luray Church of the Brethren.

On June 30, 1962, he married Charlotte Mae Aleshire Alger, who survives.

Nelson was preceded in death by a brother, James Abraham Alger Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Amy Schultz, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
