Michael Nelson Painter, 62, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
He was born on March 5, 1962, in Luray, VA, and was a son of Nelson Painter (stepmother Arletta Painter) of Stanley, and the late Bessie Ann Hite Price (late stepfather Elbert Price).
For many years before his death, Mike was a construction foreman for Valley Builders of Luray and Quality Production Construction of Frederick, MD. After years of building houses, Mike took a different direction and became the farm foreman for Appalachian Freight at the Pence Farms in Edinburg. Mike was also a member of The Eagles in New Market.
On August 21, 1988, he married Lena Louise Printz Painter, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, father and stepmother, are a son David-Ray Painter of Mount Jackson; a daughter, Sara Painter of Luray; a sister, Rebecca Wood of Rileyville; a brother, Kenneth Painter of Luray; two stepbrothers, Gregory Price of Luray, and Charles Lee Price of Edinburg; four grandchildren, Brandon, Khloe, Wyatt and ZadaLynn; and two nephews, Brian Martin of Stanley, and Chad Martin of Luray. He was preceded in death by two stepbrothers, Gerry L. and Curtis Ricky Price.
A memorial celebration is being planned in the spring.
