Melvin Elwood Fissel Jr.

Melvin Elwood Fissel Jr., 61, of Stanley, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center. He was born on June 24, 1960, in York, Pennsylvania.

On July 2, 1996, he married Sylvia Crawford Fissel, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother, Blanche Minck Fissel; and four sisters, Angel Skeens and husband Dean, Wendy Smith and husband Ryan, Tina Campbell and husband Jeffrey, and Tammy Staub and husband Dave, all of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by two stepsons, Larry Housden and wife Rebecca, and Richie Housden and wife Michele of Stanley; two granddaughters, Jade and Rachel Housden of Stanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Fissel Sr.

Visitation is planned from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Bradley Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
