Mary Jane Frohlich, 89, of Luray, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Born on October 20, 1936, in Washington, D.C., Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Francis Earl Greer and Virginia Louise Tetlow Greer. She lived a life defined by faith and an extraordinary love for her family and friends.
Mary Jane retired in 1993 after many years as a bus driver. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and was active in the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621 Ladies Auxiliary, where she formed many lasting friendships and faithfully served her community. She loved spending time golfing, bowling, gardening and enjoying crabs with family. Her unwavering love and service to the Lord carried into everything she did.
On January 5, 1957, Mary Jane married her soulmate, Edward Marlow Frohlich Jr. Together they built a family rooted in love, tradition, and togetherness, sharing nearly 60 years of marriage until Edward's passing April 26, 2016.
Above all else, Mary Jane's greatest joy was her family. She celebrated every milestone, sent a card for every occasion and always showed up for everything with a camera ready, making each person in her family feel special. Her thoughtful nature, warm smile, and selfless spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Dawn Frohlich of Luray; sons John Frohlich and wife Melissa of Staunton, and James Frohlich and wife Colleen of Mechanicsville, Maryland; daughters-in-law, Flor Nesselrodt of Stephens City, and Linda Frohlich of Palm Bay, Florida; her brother, Francis Earl Greer Jr. and wife Cynthia of Luray, Virginia; sister-in-law Patricia Greer of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren Jeremy Carr, Stacey Anderson and husband Matt, Megan Murphy and husband PJ, and Makayla Frohlich; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Jaylin Carr, Jack Anderson and Camden Murphy.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her sons, Stephen Frohlich and Mark Edward Frohlich; and her brothers, John M. "Jack" Greer and Joseph "Bucky" Greer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, at Bradley Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with Father Edwin Perez officiating. Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Maryland.
