Marlin Alden Cardin, 77, of Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
He was born on June 12, 1946, in Stanley and was a son of the late William Edward Cardin and Onedia Elizabeth Cubbage Cardin.
Marlin married Cathy "Cookie" Alger Cardin, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Marlin "Fuzzie" Cardin Jr. of Shenandoah, Brian Cardin and Ricky Cardin, both of Stanley, and David Alger of Luray; two daughters, Shannon Alger and Vicky Lam, both of Stanley; Kim Cubbage of Shenandoah, and Kenny Sours of Stanley, whom he raised; a brother, Rondal Cardin of Stanley; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth White; and two brothers, Donnie Edward Cardin and Gary Cardin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, at the Riverview Independent Gospel Church in Stanley by Pastor Jeff Lucas and Pastor Sam Seekford, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 2-3 p.m.
