Linda “Sue” Sours, 72, of Luray, passed away at Page Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, with her family by her side.
Sue dedicated her life’s work providing care and service to patients in the Medical/Surgical Unit, Laboratory, and Page Memorial Hospital Multi-Specialty Clinic where she served as the Site Coordinator and Cancer Program Resource Liaison. She also shared her time in the Page Free Clinic. In recognition of her 54 years of service, June 10 was declared Sue Sours Appreciation Day.
Sue was a member of the Big Spring Mennonite Church and served her community through the church’s “Feed the Lambs” Backpack Program.
She will be fondly remembered for her caregiving nature which was driven by love for her family and friends. Sue’s compassion was unparalleled. She was always willing to offer comfort and a listening ear.
She was born on December 8, 1951, in Luray and was the daughter of the late Archie Lee Jenkins and Mary Elizabeth Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Allen Sours, whom she married June 17, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Archie Lee Jenkins Junior.
She is survived by son David Sours and wife Allysah; son Eric Sours and wife Carla, both of Luray; and a beloved granddaughter, Lauren Sours.
A family night is planned at Big Spring Mennonite Church in Rileyville on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 6-8 p.m.
A service is planned at Big Spring Mennonite Church on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
