Lewis Dale Painter, 72, of Elkton, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab in Luray.
He was born on March 31, 1953, in Virginia and was a son of the late Joyce Ann Blosser Lucas.
Lewis had worked at Wrangler and as a security guard at the Valley Mall in Harrisonburg.
Lewis is survived by two daughters, Candace Painter and husband Melvin of Elkton, and Brandy Dunlap and husband Eric of Stanley; a son, Shawn Painter and wife Jessica of Stanley; a brother, Beverly "Butch" Painter and wife Teresa of Shenandoah; a special friend, Lois Painter of Luray; 10 grandchildren, Makala Moyer and husband Jacob, Natalie Short and husband Christian, Ava Dunlap, Holden Bowman and Liam Bowman, all of Stanley, Anakin McCoy, Melvin Campbell, Remington Campbell, Katelyn Campbell and Priscilla Campbell, all of Elkton; and three great-grandchildren, Kolson Moyer, Camden Short and Barrett Short, all of Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, May 17, at the funeral home by Evangelist Earl E. Painter. Burial will be in the Stanley Advent Cemetery.
