Laura Mozell Turner, 91, of Stanley, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Page Memorial Hospital.
She was born on September 1, 1933, in Rockingham and was a daughter of the late Paul Weaver and Myrtle Florence Aleshire Jenkins.
Laura was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley.
On November 1, 1952, she married Noah Preston Turner, who survives.
In addition to her husband, Laura is survived by a daughter, Jeanie McDonald and husband Wayne of Elkton; two sons, Jerry Turner and wife Sue, and Danny Turner and wife Tina, all of Luray; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Brady Turner; a brother, Charles "Eddie" Weaver; five sisters, Iva Mae Merica, Pauline Lam, Ollie Cubbage, Elsie Cubbage and Blanche Merica; a grandson, Adam Turner; and a great-grandson, Cameron Turner.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 21, at the church by the Rev. Hal Sonafrank, Pastor Josh Shifflett and the Rev. Charles Turner. Burial will be in the Leake’s Chapel Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Turner, Blake Turner, Eric Turner, D.J. Cubbage, Abel Cubbage, and Trenton Turner.
