Kenneth Somers Obituary
Kenneth Franklin Somers, 88, of Luray, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
He was born on May 23, 1937, in Luray and was a son of the late Claude Herbert Somers and Nina Estelle Miller Somers.
Kenneth was a member of the Mount Zion Church of the Brethren in Luray.
On Nov. 26, 1959, he married Myrtle Mae Taylor Somers, who died on June 13, 2018.
Kenneth is survived by two sons, Jeffery Stephen Somers of Luray, and Michael Todd Somers of Stanley; three daughters, Anita Faye Baker, Carol Louise Haddock and Sheila Rae Pennington, all of Luray; a brother, James L. Somers of Luray; two sisters, Janice E. Breeden and Mary Jane Buracker, both of Luray; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 15, at the Mount Zion Church of the Brethren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at the church by Pastor Gary Major. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
