Kathryn-Ann Gail Swortzel, 25, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
She was born on February 28, 2000, in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of Reba Evers Alger of Luray and the late Steven Swortzel.
In addition to her mother, Kathryn-Ann is survived by her stepfather, Ray Alger of Luray; two stepsisters, Annie Alger of Luray, and Katie Small of Bridgewater; her grandparents, Gary and Brenda Miller of Bridgewater, Ronald and Peggy Flint of Staunton, and David Swortzel of Floyd. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Norman Evers Jr.
Kathryn-Ann was a member of the Rileyville Baptist Church. She was compassionate, loving, caring and sharing. She received great joy from giving and sharing God's love with everyone she met. There were no strangers in her eyes. Her love for others was truly exemplary of Christ's love for us.
Kathryn-Ann will forever be greatly missed by her parents, special family and friends.
A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Rileyville Baptist Church.
