Katherine Gaynette Phillips, 86, of Luray, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Page Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 4, 1938, in Rileyville and was a daughter of the late Willis Dearing Kibler and Sudie A. Smith Kibler.
Katherine was a bus driver for Page County Public Schools, as well as Fairfax County Public Schools from which she retired.
She is survived by two daughters, Tabitha Ruffner and Anita Long, both of Luray; a son, Tom Long of Luray; a brother, Earl Franklin Kibler of Front Royal; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold Leon Kibler, Carol Leo Kibler, Emanuel Cletus Kibler, Virgil Kibler and Wade D. Kibler; and two sisters, Madeline Kline and Floranna Stoneberger.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Evangelist Doug Gochenour. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to an organization associated with dementia or Alzheimer's research.
