Julian W. Fox, 96, of Luray, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026.
He was born on December 7, 1929, in Luray and was a son of the late Homer Franklin Fox and Vera Virginia Griffith Fox.
Julian was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War earning a Purple Heart. He had worked as a custodian for the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Morning Star Lutheran Church in Luray.
On February 4, 1950, he married Martha Elizabeth Jenkins Fox, who died on March 22, 2026.
Julian is survived by two daughters, Karen Beckler and husband Timothy, and Donna Catron and husband Len, all of Luray; six grandchildren, Mike Catron (Emily), Richard Catron (Jennifer), Kelly Zimbro (Kevin), Ben Vile, Andrew Vile (Haley), and Samantha Ledbetter (Steve); and eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brad, Chloe, Cooper, Claire, Cora, Wyatt and Logan.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances V. Keeney, Betty Stuehmeyer, Groveen Pierce and Reva Weld; and six brothers, Winfred Fox, Aubrey Fox, Talbert Fox, E. Lewis Fox, George Fox and Bruce Fox.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at the Morning Star Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Marble, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Morning Star Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Morning Star Lutheran Church or to Blue Ridge Hospice.
