Julia Marie (Lucas) Slye

Julia Marie Slye, 78, of Luray, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Page Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 22, 1946, in Virginia and was a daughter of the late Samuel David Lucas and Elizabeth Mildred Stoneberger Lucas.

Julia had worked as a chef for Jordan Hollow Inn. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Regular Baptist Church.

On March 31, 1963, she married Charles Leslie Slye, who died on June 4, 2012.

Julia is survived by two sons, Charles Edward Slye of Luray, and Jeffrey "Todd" Slye and wife Kim of Luray; three grandchildren, Jessica Slye, Shannon Slye and Michael Slye; and a sister, Joann Cubbage of Stanley.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Heath Kahlbau. Burial will be in the Leaksville Cemetery in Luray.
