Joyce Ann Knight, 80, of Luray, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
She was born on November 23, 1944, in Luray and was the daughter of the late Robert William Sours and Lottie Elnora Sours.
Joyce retired from Wrangler, with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Stanley.
On May 19, 1962, Joyce married Franklin Lee "Frankie" Knight, who died on June 16, 2022.
She is survived by two daughters, Carla Lee Whiteside and husband Jimbo, and Carol Ann Lam and husband Greg, all of Stanley; a sister, Nina Mae Gray of Luray; five grandchildren, James Whiteside III and wife Cassey of Luray, Rebecca Good and husband Dwayne of Stanley, Elizabeth McDonaldson and husband Tyler of Shenandoah, Zachary Lam of Craigsville, and Logan Lam of Luray; and six great-grandchildren, Koralynn Whiteside of Luray, Rileigh Good of Stanley, Bailey, Weston and Jace McDonaldson, all of Shenandoah, and Wynter Rose Knott of Grottoes. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Knight; a daughter, Frances Knight; two sisters, Gladys Marie Sours and Murle Elizabeth Broy; and four brothers, Earl "Tink" Sours, Ray William Sours, Bernard "Dick" Sours Sr. and Granville Roscoe Sours.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at the Fellowship Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at the church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, by Pastor Donnie Sherfey and Pastor Josh Parlett. Burial will be in the Morning Star Lutheran Cemetery in Luray.
