John Wesley Roles Jr., 65, of Luray, died on Monday, Sept. 6, 2021.
He was born on April 17, 1956, in Frederick, MD, and was a son of the late John Wesley Roles Sr. of Luray and the late June Maxine Belch of Maryland.
Mr. Roles owned and operated B&J Transmissions and A Performance Transmissions in Front Royal, as well as Auto Stop in Rileyville.
On July 13, 1996, he married Maxine Hope Wolken Roles, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Knichel Knichel of New Jersey, and Krystal Roles of Luray; a son, John Wesley Roles III of Winchester; a brother, Robert Roles Sr. of Woodstock; a sister, Deborah Connor of Rileyville; four grandchildren, and many friends and family. He was a breaker of chains for his family—raising his kids to make a good impact on the world. He was a strong person who battled cancer for 21 years.
A funeral service was conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Flint Hill Methodist Church by Pastor Jeff Thompson. Burial will be in the Flint Hill Cemetery.
