Obituary

John Adam Pettit, 85, of Luray, died on Sunday, Aug, 29, 2021, at Page Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 6, 1935, in Stanley and was a son of the late George Nixon Pettit and Julia Esther Gray Pettit.

Mr. Pettit was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Pine Grove.

On June 4, 1955, he married Barbara Jean McClary Pettit, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Gary Pettit of Luray; two sisters, Esther Prince of Stanley, and Janet Zatt of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Seeley and Vicky Pettit; five sisters, Nellie Reggettz, Ethel Pettit, Anna Alger, Edith Barre and Ruth Johnson; and five brothers, George, Oscar, Ray, Homer and Millard Pettit.
