Jeffrey Kent Pleasants, 68, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on February 19, 1957, and was the son of the late Earl Tennyson Pleasants and Beatrice Parlett Pleasants.
Jeff, known as Pheas to his friends, worked for several years as a cook at Big Meadows on Skyline Drive. He loved playing the drums in his spare time.
One of the things he felt strongly about was helping others. He was always there to help friends and family in need. He even donated his body to the Virginia State Anatomical Program in hopes to help others through scientific studies.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Andrea Owens (Adam) of Luray; sister Alice Reichard (John) of Luray; stepdaughter Regina Rickard (David) of Luray; nephew Jeffrey Dwayne Hughes; nephew Robert Pleasants (Penny); nephew Corey Reichard; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Pleasants; his brother, Tenny Pleasants; and his companion, Mellie “Bea” Dooley Pleasants.
