Janet Lee Dovel, 87, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester.
She was born on September 21, 1938, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Lewis William Good and Reva Mae Painter Good.
Janet had worked at Blue Bell (Wrangler) as an inspector and retired as a special needs driver for Page County Public Schools. She was a member of the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley.
On February 28, 1958, she married Ralph Lee Dovel, who died on May 9, 2018.
Janet is survived by 2 daughters, Pam Hanger and husband Tim of Linville, and Teri Kitta of New Market; a brother, Alfred William Good of Harrisonburg; and a grandson, Anthony Kitta III and wife Jen of Winchester. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Good.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, at the Leake’s Chapel Cemetery by Pastor Duane Painter.
