James Yates Williamson

James Yates Williamson, 89, of Stanley, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1932, in Washington, D.C., and was a son of the late Frederick Yates Williamson and Elizabeth Louise Cunningham Williamson.

James earned a bachelor's degree in business from American University and worked as an operations manager for Hecht's. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Edythe Lealani Demory Williamson, are a daughter, Susan Brown of Luray; a son, James Williamson Jr. of Cumberland; and four grandchildren, Demory Miles Williamson, Georgia Rae Brown, Annabelle Yates Williamson and James Robert Williamson.
