James Julius Washington

James Julius Washington, 68, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

He was born on January 26, 1955, in Luray and was a son of the late Melvin Washington and Elna Pauline Johnson Washington.

James is survived by two daughters, Sharon P. Perrell of Gaithersburg, MD, and Sabrina Denise Washington of Richmond; Four sisters, Deborah Washington of Luray, Celadore Celestine Washington of Greensboro, NC, and Marjorie Ann Washington of Alexandria and Joyce Gray of luray VA; four brothers, John Gregory Washington and Marion Lee Washington, both of Washington, DC, Rodney Leon Washington of Fishersville, and Ronald Eugene Washington of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren, Aniya Washington, Isaiah Bailey, Brianna Bailey, Kariri Washington, Armani Branch and Malachi Branch; an uncle, Bobby Johnson and wife Judy; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Carolyn Brown. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Darnella "Sue" Washington and Gloria Jean Washington; and three brothers, Jeffrey Jerome Washington, Melvin Junior Washington and Randolph Franklin Washington.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Archie Webster, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Veney Family Cemetery in Luray.
