James Andris Atkins, 83, of Luray, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
He was born on April 18, 1942, in Sperryville and was a son of the late Lee A. Atkins and Thelma Atkins.
James was a veteran of the United States Army and worked in maintenance for the Town of Luray for 30 years.
On June 8, 1968, he married Lula Belle Williams Atkins, who survives.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by a son, Todd Atkins and wife Shannon of Luray. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Wilson Atkins; and three sisters, Barbara Christine Atkins, Lee Anna Wharton and Frances Marie Atkins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Josh Parlett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
