Illdis M. Deavers
Illdis Marie Deavers, 89, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Winchester Medical Center.
She was born on March 29, 1931, in Hagerstown, Md., and was a daughter of the late Floyd Sylvester Housden and Thelma Evelyn Wilson Housden.
Illdis worked as a supervisor at Blue Bell (now Wrangler), retiring in 1992 with 39 years of service. She was a member of the Calvary Independent Brethren Church in Stanley.
On Dec. 30, 1950, Illdis married Paul Deavers, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Paulette Painter and husband Wayne of Stanley; Carla Gray, who was like a daughter to her; two granddaughters, Makayla Parker and Hayden Gray, both of Luray; and a great-grandson, William Mayle III of Luray. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wardell Sylvester Housden.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, at the Calvary Independent Brethren Church by Pastor Charles Turner. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray Monday June 15 at 10 a.m.
