Glora Mae (Dovel) Kite

Glora Mae Kite, 85, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

She was born on September 5, 1940, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Charles Elmo Dovel Sr. and Maggie Mae Lucas Dovel.

Glora had worked as a seamstress at Wrangler for 40 years and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

On November 17, 1965, she married James Orville "Boo" Kite, who died on February 5, 2018.

Glora is survived by two brothers, Charles Elmo Dovel Jr. and Wayne Dovel, both of Luray; and two sisters, Sylva Comer of Shenandoah, and Mary Lou Fisher of Luray. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Kay Good.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 29, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Greg Purdham, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery at Alma.
