Glenwood Wilson Short

Glenwood Wilson Short, 86, of New Market, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Page Memorial Hospital.

He was born on December 27, 1938, in Luray and was a son of the late Calvin Wilson Short and Geneva Pearl Seal Short.

Glenwood was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the maintenance department at Shenandoah National Park, with 25 years of service.

On August 19, 1961, he married Anna Belle Foltz Short, who died on April 30, 2021.

Glenwood is survived by a stepson, Greg Housden of Luray; a stepdaughter, Vickie Huffman of Luray; a brother, Ronnie Short of Luray; a sister, Bonnie Plum of Luray; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Calvin Short.

A private graveside service will be conducted at the Stanley Advent Cemetery by Pastor Alan Jones.
