Geraldine Jewel (Lambert) Printz

Geraldine “Gerri” Printz, 85, of Luray, Va., departed this life to her eternal Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 9, 2021, peacefully at her home.

Gerri was born July 3, 1936, in West Virginia, daughter of Jesse and Christina Lambert, both of whom preceded her in death.

Gerri's greatest joy was her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 35 years, James “Jim” Printz, whom she leaves behind.

Also surviving are three sons, Gary Adkins (Cindy) of West Virginia, O.J. Workman of Luray, and Mark Workman (Mary) of Harrisonburg; and three stepchildren, Jim Bill Printz (Jensina), Chris Printz (Joanne), and Jackie Printz. She also leaves behind her sister, Aretta Smith.

She especially enjoyed being a grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her dog, Darby, who was always by her side.

Gerri worked in Harrisonburg for 20 years as reservations manager at the Sheraton Hotel. Later she joined her husband, Jim, working with him at their Allstate Insurance company in Luray, until they both retired.

Gerri loved cooking and having family over, especially during the holidays. She would present a table with food fit for a king at their gatherings.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, where she was a member. The service will be conducted by the Rev. R. Nicholas Eichelberger. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the church, prior to the service.
